What affects the price of a natural stone countertop
It is one of the most common questions, and also one of the hardest to answer with a fixed figure, because the price of a natural stone countertop depends on quite a few real factors, not a simple price per square meter.
As an initial reference, at AMBZ Natural Stone prices start from €180 per linear meter. From there, the final cost varies depending on the following factors:
The type of stone, the most obvious factor
Not all marbles or granites cost the same, the rarity of the block, its origin and the difficulty of extraction directly influence the price. An imported marble with very particular veining will always cost more than a more common one.
Thickness and the piece’s format
Standard thickness (2 or 3 cm) and whether the piece requires special cuts, curved corners, or a size that requires more than one slab, directly affects the final price.
Cutting complexity and finishes
Simple straight cuts are more affordable than complex shapes, elaborate decorative edges, or book-matched pieces (where two slabs are combined so the veining continues symmetrically).
Installation
An installation with many cuts for sink openings, induction hobs, or complex fits with uneven walls requires more specialized labor hours than a standard installation.
Why don’t we publish a fixed price list?
While we give you an initial reference, we don’t publish a fixed price list because two kitchens of the same size can vary quite a bit in cost depending on the factors above. We prefer to give you a real quote based on your specific project, including a physical sample. Get in touch and we will reply within 24 hours.
